The 2025 edition of NanoInnovation continues its tradition of fostering dialogue among institutions, academia, industry, and the innovation ecosystem. Within this context, research infrastructures are increasingly recognized as strategic assets for the national innovation system and key drivers of technological sovereignty, industrial competitiveness, and advanced training.
Today’s scientific and industrial challenges – from materials design to energy transition, from sustainable manufacturing to quantum technologies – demand open, interconnected, and AI-enabled infrastructures, capable of supporting complex experimentation and data-driven research at scale.
This Round Table will address how Italian and European research infrastructures, including those funded under the PNRR, are reshaping their models of access, governance, and technological development to meet emerging priorities.
A central focus will be the integration of Artificial Intelligence as an enabling layer: not just a tool, but a strategic factor in optimizing operations, accelerating results, and reinforcing the connection between scientific knowledge and industrial application.

Topics on the agenda will include:
- Strategic alignment between newly funded infrastructures (PNRR) and established European frameworks (ESFRI, EOSC, etc.);
- The role of AI in enhancing infrastructure performance and user services;
- Best practices in open access, platform interoperability, and digital transition;
- Governance and sustainability of national and regional infrastructure ecosystems;
- Opportunities for industry-academia co-design and collaborative technology transfer.

The Round Table will gather representatives from key infrastructures, institutional stakeholders, and policy actors. Panelists are currently being defined, in dialogue with national coordination initiatives and relevant networks.
This event aims to promote shared strategic visions, foster synergies among platforms, and contribute to a more integrated and future-oriented research infrastructure system in Italy and Europe.

Participation is open to all registered attendees.
