TT.VIII - Technical Parallel Track Sessions
Rome Technopole: Research Infrastructures and Innovation Ecosystem
Co-organized with Rome Technopole Foundation
Chair: Stefano PENNA, Rome Technopole Foundation

This session is part of the Featured Event (FE.III) on "Rome Technopole: Results and services to support innovation".

This second an last session will focus on the network of research infrastructures developed within the Rome Technopole framework, operating under the Infrastructure-as-a-Service model. Participants will discover IR2Tech, Open Labs, and Joint Labs, platforms designed to make advanced equipment, laboratories, and scientific expertise accessible to academia, industry, and start-ups. Specific examples will include Sapienza’s Nanotechnology and Nanoscience Laboratory, CHOPIN-Lab for organ-on-chip systems, Space Lab 4.0 for aerospace innovation, nanophotonics for biosensing, and computational nanofluidics at NanoCAFÉ. The session will also cover outreach, public engagement, and lifelong learning initiatives as strategic levers for inclusive innovation. This second part will illustrate how research infrastructures, co-designed environments, and cross-sector partnerships form the backbone of an innovation ecosystem capable of delivering high-impact solutions in Energy Transition, Digital Transition, and Health & Bio-Pharma.
