Materials for a Cleaner Planet: Innovation and Sustainability 1/2
Co-organized with University of Milan
Chair: Claudia Letizia Maddalena BIANCHI, University of Milan

The first two sessions is dedicated to presenting the latest advancements in the design and application of advanced materials for environmental remediation. With a focus on real-world challenges in water decontamination and energy production, the session will feature high-level presentations from leading experts in materials science, chemistry, and environmental engineering.
Speakers will explore state-of-the-art technologies and functional materials — including adsorbents, (photo)catalysts, and hybrid systems — developed to tackle pollution, recover resources, and reduce the environmental footprint. The workshop will emphasize both emerging research and scalable solutions, highlighting strategies that bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and field implementation. Through interdisciplinary dialogue among scientists, and industry experts, this session aims to foster actionable insights and new collaborations. Attendees will benefit from interactive discussions and Q&A moments, gaining a comprehensive perspective on the role of advanced materials in building a cleaner and more sustainable future.
